Ellen W. Goos

Ellen Wilhemina Goos, “Mother Goos”, age 75, went home to Jesus on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from Essentia Hospital with her family by her side.

In 1939 Ellen was born to Earl and Luella Bluhm in New Brighton, MN. She married Leonard Goos in October of 1960. God blessed them with three daughters and one son. Ellen and family moved to Roseau, MN in 1969 to further their dreams and make a home. As the years went by and the nest emptied, “Mother Goos” and Leonard moved to Texas, followed by Michigan and then back permanently to Minnesota.

Ellen always had a smile on her face. She turned life’s ups and downs into praise and prayers with a simple Amen. She loved to worship her Lord and read her Bible. Ellen had a talent for writing and penned many beautiful poems. She loved to take photos along her journey, and shared her favorites in homemade cards. For several years Ellen worked as a senior citizen center director but her true passion was developing loving relationships with her family and friends.

Ellen has been reunited in Heaven with her parents, Earl and Luella Bluhm, and brother-in-law Dale Stamm. She is survived by her husband, Leonard Goos, her four children—Tami Keith Mitterling, Heidi Dresser, Jodi Todd Holston, John Julie Goos—Nine grandchildren, her sisters Gayle Chuck Ahlberg, June Ron Panek and Betty Stamm and sister-in-law Ruby Kenneth Broten as well as extended family and many friends.

Ellen’s victory celebration will be held at Wright Funeral home, 605 2nd Ave S, Moorhead, MN 56560 on Tuesday, April 21st at 11am. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Interment will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Weber, MN.
