Ellis C. Freeman

Ellis was born February 21, 1926, to Ellis J. and Mary McCusker Freeman in Moorhead, MN. He grew up in New England, ND, where he graduated from high school. Ellis then continued his education at Dakota Business College in Fargo, ND. On July 6, 1953, he married Antoinette "Teddy" Varriano, in Dilworth, MN. Together they had five children. As an accountant, Ellis worked earlier in his career at Moorhead Seed & Grain, then Goldberg Feed & Grain and later Anheuser-Busch, where he retired in 1991. Ellis was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing golf, watching Moorhead hockey, and especially enjoyed his years coaching Babe Ruth Baseball. He was a gentle soul who will truly be missed.Ellis is survived by his wife of 58 years, Teddy; son, Michael Freeman; daughters, Renee Freeman, Colleen Woodard, Colette David Kreger, Mary Freeman; grandchildren, Adam, Eli, Joshua, Roy and Shawna; and great-grandchildren, Rionna and Mikala.He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Aubrey, Sydney "Ed", Claude, Kenneth and Elmer.
