Elmer Gudmund Oberg

Elmer Gudmund Oberg, 91, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019, in Eventide at Fairmont Assisted Living, Moorhead, MN.

Elmer was born on February 22, 1928 to Gudmund and Myrtle (Grinde) Oberg in Kragnes, MN. He grew up and attended school in Kragnes, MN. He owned and operated the family farm where he worked his whole life. He was united in marriage to Alys Tangen on December 12, 1948 in Glyndon, MN. Alys passed away on July 23, 2011.

Elmer was a member of the Kragnes Township Board, Kragness Farmers Elevator Board, a deacon and board member at North Buffalo Lutheran Church, and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He belonged to the Masons, Sons of Norway, Elks, Eagles, and El Zagal Shriners.

Elmer is survived by his children, Rick (Laurie) Oberg, Diane (Ron) Rehder, Donna (Rick) Aune, and Connie (Doug) Lau; grandchildren, Chad (Leslie) Oberg, Dawn (Barry Bowers) Oberg, Missy (Jason) Slaba, Mindy (Chad) Schultz, Jason Aune, Matthew (Sara) Lau, and Christopher (Victoria Tatro) Lau; great grandchildren, Stuart, Kaden, Levi, Marley, Wyatt, Sophia, Nicholas, and Theo; brother, Ernie Oberg; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Alys; parents, Gudmund and Myrtle; and siblings, James, Vernon, Marlin, Mildred, John, Joan, and Frances.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 P.M., Monday, June 3, 2019, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will continue Tuesday, June 4, 2019, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN. Final resting place will be at North Buffalo Lutheran Church Cemetery, Kragnes, MN, following the service.
