Elsie was born in the rural Sykeston, ND area on June 8, 1920 to John and Elizabeth Neumiller. She attended a rural school and helped her parents with the care of younger children in the family and the running of the large household. On July 12, 1941, she married Gilbert Krause at the Wells County Fair in Fessenden, ND. They farmed in the Bowdon, ND and Heaton, ND areas and in 1951 moved to a farm near Gibbon, MN where they farmed for a year. From there they moved to Glyndon, MN and farmed land near Averill, MN. In 1958, they moved, once again, to a farm near Verona, ND.Elsie moved to Fargo in 1971 and worked for St. Luke's Hospital now Meritcare for 15 years in housekeeping. She married Fred Schock in 1972 in Fargo, ND. She and Fred were active in the Fargo Moose Club and were members of Peace Lutheran Church. In 1992 she moved to Carrington, ND where she enjoyed a busy social calendar and spending time with her siblings who also lived there. She moved to Gwinner, ND in 1997 and was active in the Senior Citizens group of that area. In 1999 she moved to the West Fargo High Rise and then on to The Fairmont, Moorhead, MN, where she resided for two years before entering Rosewood on Broadway in September 2006.Elsie enjoyed visiting with people, crocheting, making quilts, cooking, find a word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and playing cards with friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elsie was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo.She is survived by 2 daughters, Laura Mylon Hoefs of West Fargo, ND, Loretta Robert Gunn of Mishawaka, IN; 5 sons, Melvin Ellen Krause of Cedar Rapids, IA, Roger Lois Krause of Clifton, TX, Robert Gail Krause of Gwinner, ND, Gary Brenda Krause of Cedar Rapids, IA and Larry Anna Krause of Tucson, AZ; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is survived by 4 sisters, Lydia Morlock of Moorhead, MN, Frieda Kenneth Watson of Carrington, ND, Iola Daryl Rask of Carrington, ND and Alice Riedel of Parkers Prairie, MN; 2 brothers, Clarence Ellen Neumiller of Vancouver, WA and Jacob Kay Neumiller of Oak Harbor, WA. She is also survived by step-daughter, Sylvia Sande; step-son, Vernon Schock, both of the San Diego, CA area; 6 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Schock; her parents, John and Elizabeth Neumiller; 5 sisters, Martha Hientz, Susie Krause, Bertha Huss, Alvina Hoff and Emma Hoff; 5 brothers, Rudy Neumiller, Albert Neumiller, Alfred Neumiller, Johnny Neumiller and Lawrence Neumiller and step-son, Donald Schock.
