Elvera S. Frissell

Elvera Annetta Frissell, 94, died Sunday November 27, 2011, in the Palliative Care Unit at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND.Elvera, daughter of Nettie Bakken and Calmer Slorby, was born November 28, 1916, in Barnesville, MN. She grew up on a farm on Lake Lida in what is now Maplewood State Park. She moved to Bismarck where she attended high school, graduating in 1934.She married Charles H. Frissell on May 4, 1940. They lived in Devils Lake, ND and Fargo, ND. She worked as a legal secretary and then as a court reporter in the County and District Courts in Fargo. Elvera was the last court reporter to hand write the full court proceedings in the Cass County Court system.She leaves a son, Bob of Sonoma, CA, a daughter, Joan of Fargo, ND, two sisters, Lenora Schwartz of West Fargo, ND and Joanne Hicks of Rochester, MN, three grandchildren, Joel and Jenny Frissell of Fargo, ND and Brett Lilly of Denver, CO.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sisters, Neola Fry, Rosemary Manthis and Patricia Hicks.
