Emilie Anderson, 77, of Moorhead, died Friday, May 26, 2017, at Golden Living Center in Moorhead.
Emilie Louise Anderson was born May 29, 1939, in Fisher, MN, to Theodore and Ione Anderson. She lived in Fisher before moving to Crookston following her father’s passing, and graduated from high school in Crookston. When she was 18 years old, she married Alan Wigand, and together they had two children, Wesley and Erick. Emilie worked for the Department of Defense for several years, and later worked for Friendship, Inc. in Fargo.
Throughout her life, Emilie enjoyed many creative and artistic talents such as painting, playing piano, making jewelry, tending to her garden filled with flowers, herbs, and vegetables, and even designing her own special coffee creations. She loved going to horse races and attending concerts, especially Lee’s orchestra concerts. She also loved to spend time watching television, and one of her favorite shows was NCIS. Emilie also enjoyed traveling, and a special trip to Hawaii held many memories for her.
Emilie is survived by her son, Wesley Wigand, of Moorhead; her granddaughter, Kjersten Wigand, of Moorhead; her brother, Warren Anderson, of Grand Forks and Len Ray Kneip of Gardner, and her special friend, Lee Nordstrom. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Erick Wigand, her sister, Mavis, and her ex-husband, Alan.
A celebration of Emilie’s life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, June 9, 2017, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Moorhead.
