Amy (Emilie) Moser of Fargo, North Dakota passed away on September 27th, 2021 at Bethany on 42nd Street due to complications of Parkinson’s Disease at the age of 89.
Amy was born April 21st 1932 in a Sod house on the Eisenbeis Family Farm in Rural Streeter North Dakota. Amy was the 8th child of 9 born to the family of Adolph and Mary (Schwartzwalter) Eisenbeis. Amy and her Sister Leona rode the family horse named “Snooks” to a one room schoolhouse miles away. Amy moved into the town of Streeter to go to high school and lived with her Grandmother. She graduated in 1949 and then attended the Valley City State Teachers college. She then taught school for 2 years in a one room schoolhouse on the Streeter Flats which had students ranging from the 1st to the 8th grade. She still had contact with some of her former students.
Amy was united in Marriage to Darrel Moser in the EUB Church in Streeter, North Dakota on January 16th, 1955. They moved to Jamestown in 1956 where their first son Carey was born. They moved to Fargo in 1958 where their second son Kevin was born. Amy was a Stay at Home Mom until the boys started Grade school. Her first Job other than being a Mother was at Scheels Hardware on Broadway. A church friend let Amy know that the NDSU Varsity Mart Bookstore was looking for a Manager for their Books and Stationary department which she applied for and was hired. She stayed at the Varsity Mart for the next 26 years until Retirement at the age of 65.
Amy and Darrel were the happiest when they were traveling to a Toy show and buying and Selling Cast Iron toys. They attended the toy show in Dyersville, Iowa for 30 consecutive years. Once Amy retired they would spend the winters in the Sacramento, California area for the next 20 years. Amy was an avid Walker and averaged 7 miles a day and it was always outside, rain or shine. Amy and Darrel moved into Bethany Homes on 42nd street in 2017. The Moser family would like to thank the Bethany Staff for the excellent care that Amy received while she was there. She is survived by her Husband Darrel of 66 Years, sons Carey (Angie) and Kevin (Suzanne); Four Grandchildren; Michael, Steve (Anna), Daniel (Corrine), and Alexis (Kenyon) Olsen; and 3 Great
Grandchildren, Jack and Emily Moser and Finn Olsen.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents Adolph and Mary, Sisters Ann, Martha, and Hulda; and Brothers Reinhold, Wesley, Harry and Robert.
Blessed is the Memory of Amy. She was all about her Faith and Family.
Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. October 9th at the 1st United Methodist Church in Fargo, N.D., followed by a funeral at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be Sunday at 1:00 p.m. October 10th at the Friedens Cemetery in Streeter followed by a gathering at the Streeter United Methodist church.
