Emma B. Gagnon, Fargo, North Dakota, formerly Sandstone, Minnesota, passed away June 17, 2011, at age 99 in Sanford Medical Center, Fargo.Emma Bertha Good was born April 2, 1912 to Emil and Frieda Willie Good in Finlayson, MN. She attended a one room country school through the eighth grade. Emma married Clifford John Gagnon on June 30, 1934 in Finlayson. They lived in Sandstone, MN, throughout their married life and had four children. Clifford died in 1957. Family was important to Emma. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family and was willing to help them in any way she could.She had a deep faith and was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Sandstone. Emma worked for many years as a cook and baker at the Sandstone public school. She retired in 1977 at the age of 65. She also worked as a caterer for weddings, funerals and other social events. She was active all her life doing such things as knitting, crocheting, playing cards, cross country skiing, gardening and working in her kitchen. She loved to bake bread, cookies, cakes and pies as well as make good meals for her family and friends. She always had a garden and canned the vegetables it produced. She also made preserves and sauerkraut annually. Emma is survived by her four children: Clifford Beverly Gagnon, Apache Junction, AZ, Beverly Peterson, Lake Wales, FL, Shirley Graham Larson, Moorhead, MN and Thomas Lori Gagnon, Anoka, MN as well as 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her six siblings.
