Erlys J. Barnett

Erlys Barnett, 83, Fargo, ND, died on Tuesday, December 6, 2021, in her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, surrounded by her loving family.

Erlys Jean Moran was born on October 15, 1938, in Fargo, ND, to Earl and Wilma (Quick) Moran. She grew up in Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High School in 1956 and then attending Moorhead State College.

She married Richard Barnett on August 14, 1965. Erlys had worked for Pillsbury in Minneapolis, MN, for four years and then was a homemaker before later working at a law firm in Apple Valley, MN, for eight years. Erlys and Dick left Apple Valley in 1991 and moved six times across Minnesota before settling in Fargo in 2016.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Roger Maris Cancer Center, and Hospice of the Red River Valley for the wonderful care that Erlys was given. Memorials may be given to Hospice or the charity of your choice.

She is survived by her husband, Dick, Fargo, ND; daughters Lisa Jacques (Eric Tennessee) San Antonio, TX, and Terri Barnett (Mike Gruesner), New Hope, MN; brother John (Carol) Moran, Detroit Lakes, MN; sister Pat Johnson, Moorhead; and four grandchildren, Alex (28), Hannah (17), Julia (15) and Jack (15).

The memorial service will be on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Friends may gather from noon until 1:00 at the funeral home.
