Esther H. Bartholomaus

Esther H. Bartholomaus, age 91, of Red Wing, MN, formerly, Glyndon, MN, died Saturday, June 4, 2011, with her family by her side.Esther Bartholomaus was born on June 5, 1919 to Henning and Dora Lass Kuehl in Glyndon. She received her education in the Glyndon area and graduated from Glyndon High School. She went on to obtain her teaching certificate from Moorhead State and then taught school in rural Hawley. Esther married Alvin Bartholomaus on June 5, 1942 and joined him in the family farming business. She was a lifelong active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin, volunteering in many capacities. Esther also volunteered for Eventide for many years. Esther enjoyed Bible study, bowling, playing cards and spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren.Esther is survived by a son, Stuart Mary Bartholomaus of Knoxville, TN; daughter, Renee Larry Sonju of Red Wing, MN; four grandchildren, Jeff Traci Sonju, Amy Dave Tuttle, Andrew Mae Lynn Bartholomaus and Matthew Joanie Bartholomaus and six great-grandchildren, Madeline, Kate and Lillie Sonju and Max, Carly and Courtney Tuttle.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin; son, Randall; brothers, Wallace and Harris and sister, Ione.
