Esther Hoeck

Esther Lorene Hoeck, 93, of Sheyenne Crossings, formerly Sabin, MN, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at Elim Palliative Care Center, Fargo, ND.
Esther was born January 17, 1922 in Dorchester, Nebraska to O.T. and Alice Smith Bower. She graduated from Central High School, Sioux City, Iowa in 1940. She worked at Fairmont Creamery until she became the wife of Ray Hoeck. They were married on May 17, 1944 at the Hoeck family farm. After Ray’s discharge from the service they moved to Rainier, OR, where they had two sons, Ron and Wayne. In 1949 they moved back to the Hoeck farm where they lived and farmed until 2006. After retiring they moved to Moorhead, MN. Their winter travels took them to New Zealand, Australia, Hawaii, Canada, Alaska and many places in the U.S. She also enjoyed spending time with her family in Sioux City and California. She loved working in her garden. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandkids playing board games, riding bike, pulling them in the wagon, and feeding them whatever made them happy, followed by lots of hugs and kisses.
She is survived by her sons Ron Cheryl Hoeck, Sabin, MN, and Wayne Sue Hoeck, Fargo, ND; grandchildren Russell Hoeck, Erin Hoeck, John Hoeck, Wes Hoeck, Ashley Tyler Hoeck Anderson; great-grandchild Mason Hoeck; sister Betty Kuhlmeier; sisters-in-law Dee Bower and Elaine Bower. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray; parents; brothers John, Lester, Billy and George Bower; sisters Juanita, Hazel, Virginia and Shirley.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Funeral: Saturday, November 14, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral in the funeral home.
Interment: Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Sabin, MN.
