Esther K. Thorson

Esther K. Thorson, 88, of Hawley, MN, passed away on Wednesday August 24, 2016, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND. Esther was born on September 12, 1927, in Baker, MN, to Anton and Elisabeth Stock Krebs. She grew up in Baker and attended school in Barnesville, MN, where she graduated from high school as class Valedictorian. Esther married Charles “Chuck” Thorson on October 18, 1947, in Sabin, MN. Together they made their home in Hawley, MN. Over the years, Esther worked at Burns Motors, Silverline, Concordia College, owned and operated the dry cleaning service and later worked in Real Estate before retiring. She stayed very active at Our Saviors Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening, stitching and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed.

Esther is survived by her children, Dwight Jean Thorson of Phoenix, AZ, Gary Lanette Thorson of Loveland, CO; daughters, Lori Thorson of Hawley, MN, Jan Anderson of Fargo, ND, Kathy Dick Tiede of Phoenix, AZ; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Elisabeth Ronnie Johnk; sisters-in-law, Clarice Aakre, Lila Krebs; and brother-in-law, Joseph Narde.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chuck; son-in-law, Roger Anderson; brothers, Anton Krebs, Jr., Clarence Krebs; sisters, Elenora Narde, Viola Bjornson, Helen Bjornson and Audrey Krebs.

Visitation will be Saturday, from 9:30 – 10:30 A.M., in Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN.

Funeral will be Saturday, at 10:30 A.M., in Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN.

Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery.
