Esther Nielsen

Esther Nielsen, 103, Fargo, ND, died September 3, 2018, at Sanford Health Medical Center.

Esther Natoma Nielsen was born March 2, 1915, in Dawson City, MN, to Carl and Henrietta (Larsen) Nielsen. She grew up and attended school in Moorhead, MN, graduated from Moorhead High School and attended Interstate Business College.  For most of her adult life she worked at the Moorhead State University Financial Office.

Esther enjoyed swimming and spending time at the lake with her siblings.  She loved spending time in her garden, and her favorite flowers were roses, irises and hydrangeas.  She especially loved spending time with her special cat companion, Kitty Love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Henrietta; all 10 of her siblings: Russell Nielsen, Bernhardt Nielsen, Mandrop Nielsen, Eilart Nielsen, Minnie Zurus, Pitra Van Nispen, Henrietta Altenbernd, Fernanda Martinson, Alvina Riordan and Violet Nielsen; and her beloved cat, Kitty Love.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 17, 2018, at 3:00 P.M., with visitation for one hour before the service, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.  Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Moorhead.
