Ethel J. Menholt

Ethel J. Menholt, 98, of Felton, MN, passed away on Saturday, January 05, 2019 in Hawley Senior Living, Hawley, MN.

Ethel was born in Glyndon, MN, on October 1, 1920 to Martin and Mina (Ingebretsen) Wold.  She grew up on the family farm in Glyndon and attended country school through the eighth grade.  She later received her GED.

On September 26, 1947, Ethel married Eddie Menholt in Moorhead, MN.  They purchased a farm in Felton and raised three children.  She farmed with Eddie for many years before joining the post offices in Felton and Fargo.

Ethel enjoyed traveling, quilting, embroidery, gardening, bingo and loved digging into genealogy.

Ethel is survived by sons, Richard (Cindy) Menholt and Darrell (Betty) Menholt; daughter, Debra (Rick) Peterson; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Della LaPash.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Red River Valley and Hawley Senior Living for their wonderful care.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Felton, MN.

Burial will be in Concordia Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Glyndon, MN, at a later date.
