Eugene Alvin Kragnes

Eugene Alvin Kragnes, rural Kragnes, age 66, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 3, 2011, in Fargo, surrounded by his family. He was born on October 12, 1944 in Fargo, the son of Alvin O. and Adeline Rosman Kragnes. Gene was baptized and confirmed in the Concordia Lutheran Church. He served in the ND Air National Guard. Gene was educated at the rural Crossroads District #70 School, Moorhead High School, NDSU and the Hanson Mechanical School. Gene was raised on the family farm near Georgetown then later moved to his farm near Kragnes. He raised sugar beets, beef cattle, soybeans and small grain. His life was farming, family and friends. He enjoyed coffee and conversation in his home or yours. He tirelessly offered his support, especially to his Dad, Uncle Bernard, Aunt Mildred as well as many other family members. Eugene is survived by his siblings, brother Burton Doris Kragnes of Detroit Lakes, MN, sisters Lorna Burt Rockstad of Ada, MN, Orpha Kjell Hoelstad of Kragnes, MN and Sylvia Walter Teigen of Moorhead, MN; nieces and nephews Renee Kragnes, Kirstin Paul Burton, Kent Kate Rockstad, Brent Angie Kragnes, Erik Gretchen Rockstad, Deidra Kragnes, Karolynn Paul Teigen-Decker, Neil Elizabeth Rockstad and 16 great-nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
