Eugene Delmer Wagner

Eugene Delmer Wagner, 66, of Willernie, MN, died October 17, 2019, in Pillars Hospice Home, Oakdale, MN.

Eugene was born August 19, 1953 in Morris, MN, to John and Eldora (Stange) Wagner.  He grew up in Beardsley, MN, attended grade school in Graceville, MN and middle school in Wheaton, MN. In 1971 he graduated from high school in Moorhead, MN and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1972, serving 2 years in Colorado.  After his discharge he came back to Moorhead and attended Moorhead Technical College for drafting, and then Wahpeton State School of Science where he obtained a degree in IT.  Eugene worked for the State of Minnesota in the IT department for 36 years before retiring in January 2013.

Eugene enjoyed competing in tractor pulling, fishing, hunting, restoring his 1932 Plymouth, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his brothers, Kenneth (Valerie) Wagner (their children, Joe, Rob and Dan Wagner), Donald (Roberta) Wagner (Don’s children, Casey and Jeremy Wagner) and Gordon (Nancy) Wagner (their children, Brett Wagner and Kelly Hoyt). He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 23, 2019, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead. The funeral service will follow on Thursday, October 24, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
