Eugene E. Landseidel

Eugene Earl Landseidel, 90, of Moorhead, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Friday April 24, 2020 at Eventide on Eighth in Moorhead, Minnesota.

Gene was born to Adam and Edna Landseidel on April 27, 1929 in Ashley, North Dakota, and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1946. He was employed by Corwin Churchill Motor Company and traveled Western North Dakota and Montana.

He married Gladys Gulleson from Rutland, North Dakota, on August 6, 1950 and served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War. After military service they made their home in Moorhead, Minnesota and had three sons, Steven, Scott and Mark.

In 1955 Gene started to work with his father Adam in construction and built Landseidel & Son, Inc. and engaged in highway construction in Minnesota and North Dakota.  After Adam’s retirement in 1969 Gene continued to operate the company and in 1970 formed Park Region Aggregate, Inc. in Park Rapids and Walker, Minnesota.

Gene and Gladys moved the family to Glyndon, Minnesota in 1965 where they lived and raised their boys.  After selling the highway construction business in 1977 they built and moved their home to Blue Lake in Park Rapids, Minnesota, where Gene could devote more time and focus to the Park Region Aggregate business.

In 1987 they purchased a home in Peoria, Arizona, and started to spend the winters there.  Gene was widowed on September 2, 1992 when Gladys died from a long illness.

On October 2, 1993 he married Ramona Ann Reiersgord, who he knew in high school, and moved to full retirement.  They spent time between Blue Lake and Peoria.  He later sold the property in Peoria and Blue Lake and they moved to a condominium on 6th street in Moorhead.  In June 2019 they moved into Eventide in Moorhead, MN.

Survivors include his wife, Ramona of Moorhead, MN; three sons, Steven of Lynchburg, VA; Scott and his wife Carol of Bloomington MN and Mark and his wife Vicki of Charlotte, NC; two step-children, Lee Reiersgord (Diane) of Littleton, CO and Lisa (Jeff) Stremmel of Champlin, MN; two sisters, Delphy (Dewey) Hagland of Edina, MN and Cynthia (Bill) Howey of Naples, FL; ten grandchildren, Isaac Landseidel, Sarah Landseidel, Emily (Josh Mitchem) Landseidel; Devan Landseidel; Derek Landseidel: Dana (Chris) Krajnik; Jack (Julie) Landseidel; Britt (Kevin) Reiersgord; Kristian (Haley) Reiersgord; Kylie Stremmel; and five great-grandchildren Austin Mitchem, Dylan Mitchem, James Krajnik, Jack Landseidel and Michael Krajnik.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents Adam and Edna, and his wife, Gladys.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. A live stream will be available here at the time of service. Minnesota state guidelines will be followed with masks required.

A committal service will be held that afternoon in Greenwood Cemetery, Park Rapids, MN, at 3:00 PM. All are welcome to attend.
