Eunice L. Nelson

Eunice L. Nelson, 79, West Fargo, ND, died Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.
Eunice Lorraine Brockman was born October 6, 1937, to William and Catherine Summons Brockman, in Crete, ND. She grew up and attended country school there and graduated from high school in Elliot, ND. After graduation, she married Jim Thompson and she stayed at home to raise their 7 children. Later in life she would work in various positions in food services. On August 26, 1978 she married LeRoy Nelson in Jamestown, ND. They lived in various places before finally settling in Virginia. After LeRoy’s death in 2011, the family moved back to North Dakota.
Eunice’s life revolved around her family, and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved making all kinds of crafts, especially ceramics, and she enjoyed cooking and baking.
She is survived by her children, Carol Pfeifer, West Fargo, Char Steve Hoff, Hillsboro, ND, Richard Thompson, Chatham, VA, Donald Thompson, West Fargo, Kenny Janet Nelson, Escondido, CA, and Chris Dena Nelson, Fort Bragg, NC; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy; her children, Marlys Askelson, Jeffery Thompson and Harold Thompson; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Thompson; her brothers, Raymond and Robert Brockman, and her great-grandchild, Ethan Covey.
The memorial gathering will be held from 1-2 P.M., followed by the memorial service at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at New Beginnings Assembly of God Church, 123 Main Ave., West Fargo, ND. Interment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Stirum, ND at a later time.
