Evangeline R. ’Vange’ Geiszler

Evangeline Vange Ruth Geiszler, 89, of Moorhead, MN, died on Thursday, December 29, 2011 in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. She was born on April 27, 1922 at Gardner, ND, to Henry and Ida Werth Heller. She was baptized on July 9, 1922 and confirmed her faith on July 16, 1939 in Grace Lutheran Church, Grandin, ND. She graduated from Gardner High School and attended North Dakota School of Science in Wahpeton, ND. Evangeline married Edwin Geiszler of Moorhead on November 24, 1947 at Grace Lutheran Church, Grandin, ND and they made their home in Moorhead. Evangeline worked several years at Armour's in West Fargo until she began babysitting in her home. During the winter months, they enjoyed traveling to California and Arizona. Evangeline enjoyed embroidering and making doll birthday cakes and family wedding cakes. Edwin died on October 27, 2010.Evangeline is survived by her brother, Merlyn Angela Heller, Detroit Lakes, MN; her sisters, Dorothy Moran, Walnut Creek, CA, Violet Donald Sannes, Moorhead, MN, Elaine Raymond Huhner, Savage, MN; several nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin. Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
