Evelit was born October 6, 1925 to Charles and Elizabeth Benshoof. She grew up and attended school in Glyndon, MN. On November 2, 1941, she married Alden Jegtvig of Hawley, MN. Through the years, she worked as a bookkeeper for Red Owl Stores and later worked as a dental assistant until she decided to stay home and be a homemaker. She liked to knit and made several knit throws and scarves for her family, which were greatly appreciated. Evelit loved and enjoyed being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren and her sense of humor was wonderful and she could smile and laugh till it hurt. She also had a tender heart and was always there if you needed her for anything. Evelit is survived by her loving daughters, Marlene Gene Nelson, and Darlene Harry Eckdahl; sister, Lorraine Roy Muhle of Dilworth, MN; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alden; baby boy Duane; her parents, Charles and Elizabeth Benshoof; one brother, Merle Benshoof of Glyndon, MN; two sisters, Vivian Krogen of Moorhead, MN, and Edna Moore of Glyndon, MN. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge all the loving and devoted care which Evelit received, both at Eventide and Sanford Palliative Care. It was wonderful!
