Fern A. Krogen

Fern A. Krogen, 86, of Hawley, MN, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015, at Halstad Living Center, Halstad, MN. Fern was born September 17, 1928, to John and Alma Cederberg Norman. She grew up in Hawley and attended rural country school. On April 22, 1947, Fern married Arnold Krogen. Together they made their home in Lake Park and started a family and had one son, Larry, and raised a nephew Irving Norman, Jr. They later moved to Hawley in 1977. Fern enjoyed caring for her family, cooking, shopping, dancing, Ford Mustangs, and especially enjoyed baking cakes for her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
Fern is survived by grandchildren, Heidi Mark Shimpa of Detroit Lakes, MN, Dan Jane Krogen of Osage, MN, Cynthia Dan Flath Krogen of Detroit Lakes, MN, Andrea David Mehus Henderson of Hope, ND; dear friend, Tim McDermaid; five great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; and son, Larry; and great-grandson, Logan.
