Florence Eileen Lene

Florence “Eileen” Lene, age 84, of Moorhead, MN and formerly of Anoka, MN, passed away on July 10, 2019 at Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead, MN.

Eileen was born July 28, 1934 to Evelyn Johnson in Moorhead and grew up in the area.  She was united in marriage to Leroy Lene in 1952 at St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead.

She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in November of 1961 in Minneapolis, MN.  Eileen loved music, singing, kittens and other animals, nature, water skiing and chocolate, she loved chocolate!  She also enjoyed spending time with family and although she didn’t have a lot of money, she tried to do as many activities with them as possible.

Since her baptism, she shared the truth of God’s Kingdom, which was very precious to her, with her family and others, as an aux pioneer on and off during her lifetime.  She found much joy in her service as was noticeable in her expressions every time she went out in the ministry.  She had “A Great Big Heart” for her family and the congregation.

Eileen looked forward to the Kingdom hope of the restored paradise, as out lined in Rv. 21:3,4 which was one of her favorite scriptures,  “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning, nor crying, nor pain be anymore.  The former things have passed away.”  Another favorite scripture was Isa 52:7, which a sister put on a pillow and gave as a gift.  Eileen loved it, as it expressed her love for the ministry and sharing it with others.

Eileen is survived by her children, Douglas, Diana, Leroy, Celeste as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother; husband, Leroy; children, Lorelei, Cary, Candy and grandchildren, Trevor and Arron.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 2:00 PM with a visitation one hour before at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Moorhead, MN.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Moorhead American Legion following the service.
