Florence M. Rodenbiker

Florence Mae Simons Rodenbiker, age 86, formerly of Rock Lake, ND, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, in Ecumen Evergreens, Moorhead, MN, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.Florence Mae Simons, daughter of Glen and Julia Simons was born on October 12, 1924 in Jacobson, MN. She graduated from Grand Rapids High School. On March 20, 1942 she married H.T. "Ted" Rodenbiker in California. The couple farmed and raised their children in Rock Lake, ND. After Ted passed away in May, 1986, Florence continued to reside in Rock Lake until May, 2006 when she moved to Ecumen Evergreens Memory Care in Moorhead, MN.Florence was a member of All Nations Lutheran Church in Rock Lake and was involved in Ladies Aide and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Florence also volunteered at many school and church functions.She will be sadly missed by her eight children, Karen of Wheat Ridge CO, Nancy of Kent, WA, Mary Jane of Pleasant Valley, NY, Beverly of Kent, WA, Kerry of Mandan, ND, Harold Bonnie of Fargo, ND, Doralee of Mandan, ND and Roger of Rock Lake, ND; twenty grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Clifford of McGregor, MN as well as several nieces and nephews.Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold "Ted", two grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters.The family asks that memorials be given in memory of Florence to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
