Floyd D. Blilie

Floyd D. Blilie, 88, Moorhead, MN, died on Friday, January 29, 2021, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Floyd Dannie Blilie was born May 3, 1932 at home on the family farm, the third of seven children to C. Arthur and Esther (Danielson) Blilie. He grew to manhood on the family farm near Comstock, MN and graduated from Comstock Public Schools in 1950. He was baptized and confirmed at the Swedish (Clara) Lutheran Church in Comstock. He was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, at which time he was stationed first at Ft. Riley, Kansas, and then in Alaska. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, he returned to the Comstock area and took over the family farm. He was united in marriage to Faye Jeannette Blouin on August 31, 1953 at Battle Lake, they had two sons, Scott and Todd. Floyd was a lifelong farmer in the Comstock area, raising wheat, soybeans, and sugarbeets. He was involved in several different organizations in the area and served on the Church Board and Cemetery Board. During the off season, he enjoyed spear fishing and making trips to Texas to visit with the migrant families that would work on the farm, he also enjoyed woodworking and restoring old tractors.

Floyd is survived by his sons, Scott (Ruth) and Todd (Jane). Grandchildren Tony, Jay (daughter Adlie), Olivia (Chris) Vandevelde and their children Levin and Larkin, Dannie (Ashley) and their children Connor and Reagan. He is also survived by his sisters; Evelyn Ommodt, Virginia (Raymond) Johnson, and Lucille (Dave) Edlund.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Faye, granddaughter Nicole, brothers Kenneth and Melvin, and sister Lila Johnson.

Visitation: Wednesday, from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
