Floyd R. Quiggle, 88, Moorhead, MN, died on Monday, October 16, 2006, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.Floyd was born on February 2, 1918, in Sabin, MN, to George and Clara Fletcher Quiggle. When he was three, his family moved to a farm between Hunter and Galesburg, ND where he attended school. Floyd farmed with his brother, Roy "Lefty" Quiggle until after WWII, when they moved to Fargo and bought a house. Floyd worked for Bill's transfer and Levitt's Furniture, before going to work for DeLendrecie's Department Store where he learned the upholstery trade. He met Donna Buchta in 1952, and they were married on May 28th of 1953, in St. Mary's Cathedral in Fargo. Floyd managed the upholstery shop at Coleman's interiors for four years and then opened his own shop in Moorhead, which he operated until retirement in 1999. Floyd was a baseball fan, following the Minnesota Twins, New York Yankees and F-M Red Hawks. He liked to read, enjoyed camping with family and going to the lake. He served as a Scoutmaster. He was involved with Cursillo, active in Pro-Life efforts, and had been a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church for over fifty years.Floyd is survived by his wife, Donna, Moorhead; children, Gail, Rio Rancho, NM, Gary, St. Cloud, MN, Mark Bernadette, Moorhead, MN, Steven Pamella, Moorhead, MN, Elizabeth, Moorhead, and Dan, Fargo; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and eight siblings.Memorials may be given to the St. Joseph's Indian School, Chamberlain, SD, 57326.
