Frances Irene Proctor Jenson, age 101, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Sunnyside Nursing Home, Lake Park, MN, under the loving care of her daughter, Dorothy, and the loving care of the Nursing staff, as well as Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Frances was born in Southern Minnesota to Charles and Alma Proctor on March 4, 1924. Her family moved to several locations before settling in the Lake Park, MN area. She was baptized and confirmed at Lake Park Lutheran Church. Frances attended Country School in Dist. 2 until completing the 8th grade. She also attended Lake Park High School through the 10th grade. Sometime after this she met Roy Jenson, and they began dating. On January 14, 1942, she and Roy married. Shortly after their marriage, Roy was drafted into the army where he served in Europe during World War 2 until the conclusion of the war.
Frances worked at the Dry Cleaners in Lake Park and also at the Lefse Plant. She even took her lefse rolling skills with her to Sunnyside and rolled Lefse there which was served to the residents, families and staff just this last Christmas Day! Roy and Frances really enjoyed family times at the lake home they built on Leaf Lake. The Jenson family and friends have many good memories of those special occasions. Back in the mid 80’s Frances took a big interest in machine knitting, which she really excelled in. In fact, she is wearing one of her very nice outfits that she will be taking along to heaven.
She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy (Bernie) Rosman, Mary Hewitt, and Shirley (Les) Ament. Grandchildren, Cynde (John) Bock, Brenda (Kent) Fisher, Dave (Jackie) Rosman, Karen (Scott) Sweetland, Nadeen (Craig) Jorgenson, Tani (Tim) Rheault, Traci (Kelly) Weible, Troy (Becky) Ament, Jeff (Carrie) Jenson, Jessica Jenson, and Jeremy (Sarah) Jenson, 23 Great-Grandchildren and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren.
