Francis Roger Perreault, 78, of Lake Park, MN, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020, in St. Mary’s Hospital, Detroit Lakes, MN.
Francis was born on August 22, 1941, to George and Nettie (Remick) Perreault near Terrebonne, MN. He grew up in the country playing in the creek, raiding gardens, and hunting rabbits so that he and his best friend, Vern, could make a meal in their outdoor adventures. He graduated from Lafayette High School, Red Lake Falls, MN, in 1959. From there, he joined the United States Navy where he served his country. Francis would joke about his military career saying he took the “kiddie cruise”, in before 18 and out before 21.
Francis met the love of his life, Ann Standish, while he was out on leave in New York, just days before retiring from the Navy. They were united in marriage on May 16, 1964, in Warsaw, NY. Francis worked at General Dynamics as an electrician engineer aid in Rochester, NY, from 1962 to 1972. From there, Francis and Ann moved to Terrebone, MN, in 1972, where they farmed for five years before he worked for Paradis Mail Service for 34 years before retiring in 2007.
Francis was a handyman that could fix about everything and enjoyed constantly remodeling the house he lived in. He was always there doing his best to help anyone fix their things, whether it be through church work or someone’s house. In his down time, Francis enjoyed crafting beers and wine. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
Francis is survived by his loving wife, Ann; children, Timothy (Kimberly) Perreault, Rita Perreault, Anthony (Sheila) Perreault, and Stephanie (Dale) Schindler; grandchildren, Kevin (Tiffany) Perreault, Victoria Perreault, Anita (Brady) Jones, Jonathan Schouviller, Alexandra (Daniel) Ostrand, Nic Perreault, Karissa Perreault, Ben Le, Alexander Le, Elijah Le, Savanah Schindler, and Sophia Schindler; great-grandchild, Emberlyn Ostrand; siblings, Clariet Perreault (sister-sister), Stephen Perreault, Mike (Mary) Perreault, and Ralph (Debra) Perreault; and many other loving relatives and friends. Francis is preceded in death by his parents, George and Nettie; and grandchild, Sarah Grace Schindler.
