Frank L. DeBrito was born on March 25, 1926 in Dilworth, MN to Danato “Dan” and Florence (Verderossa) DiBrito.
He received his education and graduated from Dilworth High School and was drafted into the U.S.A. Army. He served his country during World War II in the Phillipines. After his honorable discharge, he chose to find a job instead of attending college. He began working for the Northern Pacific Railroad from which he retired after 47 years in 1990. He married Jeanette Dibble on April 11th, 1974. Frank resided in Moorhead, MN until his death in 2018.
He leaves behind his wife, Jeanette; children, Tom (Debra) DeBrito, James (Steve Robson) DeBrito, and Karen (Steve) Wonderlich; Jeanette’s children, Ronette (Jeff) Miller, Mark (Cathy) Dibble, Tim (Stacy) Dibble; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Joe (Marie) DiBrito, and John (Molly) DiBrito.
Frank was very proud of his Italian heritage and was very proud of his military service. He was so fortunate to be able to go on the very first WDAY Honor Flight. He and Jeanette enjoyed their retirement in the Cormorant Lake Area and they continued to live in Moorhead until his death.
Frank was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and Cormorant Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the V.F.W, American Legion, DAV, Elks, and Eagles Club.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior to the service. A private family burial will take place at a later date in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery , Little Falls, MN.
