Gary H. Molstre, 78, of Dilworth, MN, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at his home.
Gary Howard Lyle Molstre was born on April 26, 1942 in Glenwood, MN, the son of Ray and Phyllis (Johnson) Molstre. He grew up in Glenwood and graduated from Glenwood High School in 1960. Gary then enlisted in the Navy and while serving he married Sandra Overby on April 3, 1961.
Following his service, Gary worked for UPS for over 10 years before moving the family to Hawley and starting Molstre Trucking Company. In 1988 Gary started Mudpumpers Mudjacking out of Dilworth which is still operating today.
Work was always a passion for Gary, and he could fix nearly anything, but he took time to enjoy hunting and fishing, and spending time at the lake with family. He and Sandra would put on a huge Halloween party every year that he would start to set up for months early. The entire family also had an NFL pick ‘em league that Gary won this year.
Gary is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughters, Tracy (Chris) Baxter, Shelly (Mike Varriano) Molstre, Kathy (Jeff) Bolger; son, Steve (Jacquie) Molstre; grandchildren, Brady (Jackie), Cody (Telia) and Sadie Baxter, Jordan, Max and Sammy Bolger, Kinzie (Patrick) Sorum, Keasha (Blaine Gorton), Kayla and Joey Molstre; great-grandchildren, Rocky and Beau Baxter and Aubree Gorton; brothers, Ben Molstre and David (Vicki) Molstre and sisters, Linda (Vern) Tiede and Victoria (Don) Batchelder.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard.
