Gary N. Ellefson

Gary N. Ellefson, age 67, of Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, September 22, 2009, in Innovis Health Systems, Fargo, ND.Gary Noel Ellefson was born on May 12, 1942 to E. Hamlin and Myrtle Boyer Ellefson in McVille, ND. He grew up and attended school in Pilot Mound, graduating from Sharon High School in 1961. After graduation, Gary attended Interstate Business College for two years. On May 22, 1965, he married Marlys Syverson in Cooperstown, ND. God blessed them with two children, Jeffrey and Julie. He enlisted in the North Dakota Army National Guard in April, 1964. He was later discharged as an E-5 Staff Sergeant in February, 1970. Gary worked as a Sales Manager for Rott-Keller Supply for 14 years. He suffered a stroke in 1991. Gary has been a resident of Villa Maria Nursing Home since 1993. Gary enjoyed latch hook, sports events, reading and visiting with his Shanley students who were assigned to him.Gary is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marlys Ellefson of Fargo, ND; one son, Jeffrey Ellefson of Fargo, ND; one daughter, Julie Chad Lachowitzer of Fargo, ND; his mother, Myrtle Ellefson of Cooperstown, ND; three brothers, Elwood Cheryl Ellefson of Cooperstown, ND, Steve Jolene Ellefson of Bismarck, ND, and Kevin Patricia Ellefson of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Nathan, Sierra and Zachary, sister-in-law, Beverly Ellefson of Cooperstown, ND and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, E. Hamlin Ellefson and brother, Terry Ellefson.
