George G. Washburn

George was born October 16, 1921, to George and Pearl Chilson Washburn, in Chicago, IL. From 1941 – 1945, he served in WWII with the U.S. Air Force. George and June were married in November of 1950, in Chicago, IL, before moving to Moorhead. He was employed by Steffens Office Equipment from 1950 – 1983. After retiring from Steffens he drove truck for North American Van Lines. George and June spent many enjoyable winters in southern Texas, and the rest of the year in the Detroit Lakes area.George is survived by his wife, June; sons, Tom Jayne Washburn, Moorhead, MN, Russ Washburn, Dilworth, MN; and grandson, Brian Washburn, Moorhead, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Betty Balsmo.
