Georgia was born on March 26, 1946 in Breckenridge, MN, to George and June Stitz Mehl. She grew up and attended school in Moorhead, graduating in 1964. On November 14, 1969 she married Dusty Sorenson. Together they raised three daughters and made their home in Moorhead, MN. She graduated from Moorhead State University in 1989 and later moved to Worthington, MN. She worked as a social worker for Nobles County until she retired in 2006 and returned to Moorhead, MN. Georgia's passion for the welfare of children was not only reflected in her career, but also in her many years as a Foster parent. She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, baking, fishing and her Minnesota Twins. She will be remembered for her many talents, quick wit, sense of humor, giving heart and strong belief in Family. Her wishes were never extravagant, her greatest joys were always to be a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and she will be deeply missed by her family. Georgia is survived by her husband of 38 years, Dusty Sorenson; three daughters, Timmi Chuck Crossley, Tiffaney Mark Dunn, Amanda Klint Raverty; nine grandchildren, Jacob Ashley Crossley, Jessica Crossley, Samantha Sorenson, Luke Dunn, Gage Dunn, Abby Dunn, Morgan Raverty, Riley Raverty, Samara Raverty; and one great grandchild, Alexis Crossley; also three brothers, Tim Sylvia Mehl, Paul Mary Mehl, Peter Jill Mehl; two sisters, Kay Gary Overby, Rebecca Eric Nelson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and June Mehl; sister, Carol Kossick; and brother, Tom Mehl.
