Gerald D. Moe

Gerald Jerry D. Moe, 77, of Horace, ND, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 18th, 2015. Gerald was born August 29th, 1938, to Oswald and Phyllis Monson Moe. He grew up and graduated from high school in Christine, ND. Gerald was a hard worker. Starting in High School and for many years to follow he worked for local farmers. He worked in construction before joining the Air National Guard in 1964, serving until 1967. Gerald married Gail Anderson Ose on March 6th, 1964, and together they made their home in Fargo, ND until moving to their farm in 1971. He worked for the City of Fargo for several years before starting with SuperValu where he worked for 33 years, retiring from there. He enjoyed driving his truck and received many awards throughout his years with them. Gerald will forever be remembered as an active member of his community and an avid fan of NASCAR and the MN Vikings and Twins. He was an athlete himself and loved watching his children compete. He was a 4H leader, and was very involved with his kids love of horses. He served as President of the Kindred Booster Club. But more than anything he enjoyed spending time with his family, pulling pranks on his loved ones, and sharing stories with his friends. He will be missed dearly.

Gerald is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Gail; children, Julie Peter Otteson of Wolverton, MN, Cathy Ricky Ryum of Barnesville, MN, Debbie Kim Olson of Kindred, ND, James Moe of Eden Prairie, MN, Jodi Rick Cramer of Fargo, ND, Jeanie Farinella of Shakopee, MN; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Diane Don Nelson, Judy Moe; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oswald and Phyllis Moe; and grandson, Eric DuBord.

Memorial gathering will be from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 22, in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will be at Christine Cemetery, Christine, ND.
