Gerald "Jerry" England

Gerald “Jerry” Allen England, 79, Fargo, ND, died August 4, 2023, at Sanford Care Center, Hillsboro, ND.

Jerry was born November 10, 1943, in Fargo, ND. He graduated from Moorhead High School in 1962, where he enjoyed 4 years as a starter in baseball and football and was state champion in wrestling his sophomore year. Jerry was united in marriage to Connie Haglund on September 11, 1965, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Moorhead.  They had two children, Chad and Corey.

 After graduating high school, Jerry began working for Muscatell-Chevrolet but eventually started his own business selling cabinets. He later worked for Rusco selling windows for many years until his retirement at the age of 62. After retirement, he worked for Sportsman’s Warehouse in Fargo for about 3 years, a job he loved very much.

In his spare time, Jerry was a talented artist and craftsman.  He enjoyed painting and making frames for his paintings.  Many mornings were spent with friends having breakfast and creating sketches on napkins, which he would give away. He was a skilled handyman and spent countless hours in his shop building things.    

Jerry is survived by his wife, Connie; sons, Chad (Shellie), Moorhead, and Corey, Fargo, and grandchildren, Leah and Jason (KyLee).  He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Pearl (Holm) Pelkey; brothers, Richard Sr., Ronald and Lloyd, and sisters, Donna and June.

Memorial service: Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 11:00 A.M., with visitation for one hour before the service, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead. Interment: Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
