Gerald L. Davis

Gerald L. Davis, 83 of Moorhead, MN, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016, in Elim Care Nursing Home, Fargo, ND.
Gerald Lawrence Davis was born on September 20, 1932 in Pelican Rapids, MN, to Earl and Bernice Rice Davis. He grew up on the family farm near Lake Lida and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1950. On April 21, 1951 he married JoAnn Berglund. Jerry and JoAnn were married for 52 years residing in Moorhead, MN.

He was employed by Cass Clay Creamery before starting his 34 year career selling insurance for American Family Insurance Co. After retiring he spent time living and working with his son, Pat which he enjoyed immensely.
He was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Moorhead for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially fishing trips to Canada and Alaska with his sons. Jerry’s culinary skills were second to none. He was also an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and especially his grandkids at their lake home in Lake Lida. He was a kind, gentle and soft-spoken man and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn, his parents and grandson Michael.

He is survived by his sons Keith Deb Davis, West Fargo, ND, Patrick Davis, Sioux Falls, SD; daughter, Debi Dale DuBored, Dallas, TX; brother, Harold “Wally” Joyce Davis, Vergas, MN; grandchildren, Catherine, Matthew, Anna and Jameson and his loving companion for many years Dawn Bjornstad.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will be at Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead, MN.
