Geraldine Knodel

Geraldine Mae (Reimche) Knodel, 84, of Dilworth, MN, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Sanford Health Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Geraldine was born on May 15, 1940, to Roy and Esther (Bich) Reimche, in Harvey, ND. She grew up on the family farm southwest of Harvey, ND, where she attended country school. She moved to Fessenden, ND, where she worked as a waitress at a local restaurant. It was there, she met the love of her life, Dallas Knodel, and they were united in marriage on May 14, 1966, in Fessenden. They moved to Dilworth where they raised their family. Geraldine continued waitressing at Frans Diner until her retirement in the early 1980’s. Dallas passed away on June 30, 2021, and Geraldine moved to Eventide in Moorhead shortly after, where she has lived ever since.

Geraldine loved playing Bingo at Big Top Bingo with her friends. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking for her family, especially big meals for Sunday dinners. She looked forward to driving around town, going to rummage sales, shopping her usual stores, and looking for a good bargain. Most of all, her grandchildren were the highlight of her life, and she loved to spend her time with them.

Geraldine is survived by her children, Myron (Doreen) Knodel and Mike Knodel; grandchildren, Sarah and Jacob Knodel; brothers, Gerald (Diane) Reimche, Jerome (Mary) Reimche, and Daniel (Karen) Reimche; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dallas; parents, Roy and Esther; and her siblings, Curtis and Duane Reimche.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., followed by the memorial service at 12:00 P.M., Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. A livestream of the service will be available here on Geraldine's webpage. Final resting place will be at Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon, MN, following the services in Moorhead.
