Geraldine A. Sunde

Geraldine Ann Sunde passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Touchmark at Harwood Groves, Fargo, ND, where she has resided for the past 13 years. Geraldine was born April 27, 1930, to Arthur and Alice (Anderson) Mehl at home in Buxton, ND.

Geraldine attended school in Buxton, where she was the captain of the basketball team through high school. She continued her education at Interstate Business College and worked at Prudential Insurance before her marriage to Vernon Sunde on September 3, 1949. Together they made their home on the family farm near Felton, MN, where they farmed for 35 years before moving to Moorhead. Vernon passed away in 1992.

Over the years, Geraldine was an active member in Scandia Lutheran and Gloria Dei Lutheran Churches, and most recently a member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead.

Geraldine lived by her favorite scripture passage “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me” Philippians 4:13

She was a lady of grace and beauty, inside and out. Geraldine will be remembered for her positive attitude and always seeing the best in everything.

They were blessed with three sons, Larry (Jackie), David (Cindy) and Tim; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; brother, Ellsworth Mehl; twin sister, Arlene Boyum; and daughter-in-law, Anita Sunde.

Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Visitation will be Friday, October 18, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Interment at Felton Cemetery, Felton, MN.
