Gerome "Jerry" I. Anderson

Gerome “Jerry” Anderson, 82, of Hawley, MN passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023. Jerry was born July 27, 1940, to Ingvald and Cynthia (Blakeway) Anderson in Hawley, MN. He married the love of his life, JoAnn Mikkelson on September 3, 1966, at Solem Lutheran Church in rural Hawley. They made their home in Hawley and were blessed with 3 children.

Jerry grew up on a farm and attended school in Hawley. He farmed with his dad for many years. In 1966, Jerry began his lifelong career working in construction. His uncle, Grant Haug, got him started in his construction career. He worked for various companies until 1989. At that point, he partnered with Arvid Nelson to form A&N Contractors. Over the 16 years of the business, they remodeled and built many of the houses and businesses in Hawley and surrounding communities.

Jerry was an avid sportsman. He loved spending time hunting and fishing with friends and family. Jerry loved snowmobiling and was part of a snowmobiling club. He was a very active member of WMSTR and enjoyed working and camping there with family. He loved the old tractors as long as they were orange or red. He rebuilt several and loved driving them in the tractor pulls and in the parades with grandchildren riding along. His love of old tractors extended to his collection of diecast model tractors.

Jerry will be greatly missed by his wife, JoAnn; daughters, Julie (Mark) Tellefson, Jill (Chad) Dibley, son Jason (Andrea) Anderson; grandchildren, Alan (Kay) Tellefson, Colton Tellefson, Alissa Dibley, Hunter Dibley, Jase Anderson; sister, Nancy (Roger) Spillum; sisters-in-law, Grace Hafstad, and Adeline Greathouse; several nieces and nephews and many other loving relatives and friends.
He is proceeded in death by his parents; sister Linda Aanenson; brothers-in-law, Leland Aanenson and John Hafstad.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023, from 5-7 PM with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN.

Visitation will continue from 1-2 PM followed by the funeral service at 2:00 at Solem Lutheran Church, rural Hawley, MN. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
