Gladys A. Swanson

Gladys A. Swanson of Moorhead, MN, passed away early on February 19, 2015, at Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo, ND. Gladys was born April 12, 1920, in Litchville, ND, to Nels and Emelia Kasseth Horsager. After graduating from high school, she moved to Fargo and worked at Woolworths for a time before working at Northern States Power for 30 years. She married Norman Swanson on June 22, 1955, and together they made their home in Moorhead. Over the years, they remained loyal to the Moorhead Spuds. They loved attending all sporting events both in town and away games. They were later recognized with a plaque for their years of support and attendance at all Spuds Football games. Gladys and Norman were also members of El Zagal Shrine in Fargo and enjoyed any opportunity to be active in the community.

Gladys is survived by her sister, Mildred Kiefer of Moorhead; brother, Norman Horsager of Litchville, ND; brothers-in-law, Donald Delores Swanson of Moorhead, and Raymond Burrows; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; parents, Nels and Emelia; and brothers, James and Clarence “Case” Horsager; sister, Edith Burrows; and brother-in-law, Bill Swanson.

Funeral: Monday, February 23, at 2:00 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.

Visitation: Monday, February 23, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.

Interment:Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
