Glen “Shag” Skjegstad, 72, of Hawley, MN, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Viking Manor Nursing Home, Ulen, MN. Glen was born April 7, 1950, in Fargo, ND, to Levern and LaRiece (Karagan) Skjegstad. He grew up and attended school in Fargo, graduating from Fargo North High School. Following high school, Glen served in the U.S. Army. He returned to the area and began working. Over the years, he took pride in his work, initially for Aerial Contracting and later owned and operated JSK Contracting until he retired.
He was an avid collector of classic cars and hot rods and loved overhauling them with his friends.
Glen is survived by his son, Josh (Mercedez) Marvig of Fargo, ND; granddaughter, Amelia; sisters, Debbie (Jim) Ingberg of Fargo, ND, and Sherry (Dan) Lunder of Hawley, MN; niece, Farrah (Cody) Townsend of Hawley, MN; and nephews, Rickey Lunder of Hawley, MN, James Ingberg and Wesley Ingberg of Fargo, ND, and Casen Townsend of Hawley, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Rick Skjegstad.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice of the Red River Valley and Viking Manor for their excellent care.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
