Glenn C. Anderson

Glenn C. Anderson, 78, of Moorhead, MN, died Monday, April 18, 2016, in his home.

Glenn Carroll Anderson was born on October 10, 1937, in Moorhead, MN, to Clarence and Gladys Snartland Anderson. He grew up in Moorhead, where he graduated from Moorhead High School. Glenn then attended Moorhead State and graduated on Aug. 21, 1959. The next day, on Aug. 22, 1959, Glenn married Marcia Jacobson in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN. They made their home in Moorhead and had two children, Laurie and Chris.

Glenn worked as an Industrial Arts teacher for Fargo Public Schools at Agassiz and Fargo South High. He also continued his education, earning a Master’s Degree from Moorhead State. Glenn retired after 42 years of teaching. This gave him more time to pursue his hobbies of woodworking, wood carving and making stained glass. Glenn was instrumental in the building of the stained glass window in the Christian Life Center at Trinity Lutheran Church, an iconic symbol of the church. He also enjoyed playing accordion with the Kringen Sons of Norway Accordion Band.

In 1993, Glenn and Marcia moved to their farmstead near Sabin, MN, where Glenn enjoyed the woods outdoors and his old tractors. He also loved cats and dogs, owning many throughout his life.

Glenn’s family would like to thank the staff at Roger Maris Cancer Center for their exceptional care and compassion for Glenn.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marcia; daughter, Laurie Anderson, Moorhead; son, Chris Anderson, Sabin. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Glenn’s memory to the Roger Maris Cancer Center and Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.

Visitation: Thursday, April 21, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral Service: Friday, April 22, at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.

Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
