Glenn Delbert Irwin, 66, of Glyndon, MN, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, in his home in Glyndon.
Glenn was born on December 28, 1957, to Floyd “Gene” and Martha (Hines) Irwin in Fargo, ND. He grew up in San Antonio, TX, on an air force base. He later moved to Barnesville, MN, after his father retired from the Air Force and he began working in construction. He met Lori Forsberg, and they were united in marriage on September 8, 1979. He moved to Dilworth, MN, and attended Moorhead Vocational Technical School and graduated with his certification as a diesel mechanic. He began working for Webb Enterprises as a welder for several years. Afterwards, he worked various welding jobs in the Fargo/Moorhead area before working at Quick Lube and Tune in Moorhead. He eventually settled in Glyndon, MN, working at Fuchs Sanitation until his disability. He has remained in Glyndon ever since.
Glenn loved being a mechanic and working on vehicles. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and metal detecting near old properties. Glenn was kind, soft hearted, and always willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Glenn is survived by his daughters, Gail (Matt) Grieve and Lisa (Bryce) Johnson; grandchildren, Megan and Morgan Grieve, and Myla and Ethan Johnson; siblings, Theresa Cook, Rebecca (Tim) James, and DuWayne (Angela) Irwin; ex-wife, Lori Irwin; special friend, Elizabeth “Di” Brooks; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Martha.
