Gloria A. Krause

Gloria A. Krause, 89, of Fargo, ND, died Friday, October 28, 2005, in Innovis Health Systems, Fargo, ND.Gloria A. Hamers was born on August 7, 1916, in Orrin, ND, to Harry and Alvina Weigel Hamers. Her family later moved to Drake, ND, where she graduated from high school, in 1935. She later attended college at Minot State Teachers College and State Teachers College in Moorhead, MN.Gloria was employed by J.C. Penney Co. in 1940, at Minot, ND, and in 1942, in Fargo, ND. In 1955, she was employed as a Secretary by the Fargo School District, in Washington Elementary School. The following year, she began employment at ND BlueCross/BlueShield. In 1959, she was transferred to Rochester, NY, with BC/BS, and while there, attended the University of Rochester. In 1964, she returned to Fargo, and took a position as Business Manager at the newly opened, Dakota Hospital. She remained there until she retired in 1982. Gloria was also a long-time member of Olivet Lutheran Church, in Fargo.She is survived by her husband, Ken; two step sons, Craig Joan Krause, Moorhead, MN, and Jeff Krause, Fargo, ND; one step son-in-law, Kim LaDuke; two step grandsons, Brian Lesley LaDuke, and Tony Jennifer LaDuke; one step granddaughter, Jessica Darren; and four step great-grandchildren, all of Fargo/Moorhead; one brother, Woodrow Emma Hamers, Bismarck, ND; one niece, Connie Darrell McQuay, one grandniece, Susan Terry Buetow, all of Bismarck, ND; and one grandnephew, Scott Wendy McQuay, Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her beloved step daughter, Peggy LaDuke, in 2003; her parents, Harry and Alvina Hamers; two brothers, Duane and Harvey; and one sister, Joyce Schmalz.In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred in memory of Gloria Krause to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O.
