Gloria Jean Olson

Gloria Jean (Anderson) Olson, 74, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, in her home. Gloria was born on June 14, 1945, to Herman and Orva (Sheer) Anderson in Clarkfield, MN.

Gloria grew up in Hanley Falls and Pelican Rapids, MN, where she attended country school until the age of 12 and graduated from Dilworth High School. During her high school years, she worked for her father at his grocery store delivering groceries. She attended Interstate Business College where she earned her Associate Degree in Accounting.

After schooling, Gloria worked for the State of Minnesota in St. Paul as an accountant. She was united in marriage to Ernie Olson on June 22, 1985, in Moorhead, MN. She then worked for Barrett Transport and Home Heating thereafter in Fargo, ND, where she retired.

Gloria had a love for the lakes where she enjoyed fish frys and visiting relatives. She was a kindhearted person who had a love for pets, specifically cats and dogs. She was a ferocious book reader and enjoyed bowling and watching her Vikings.

Gloria is survived by her loving husband, Ernie; children, Tom (Susie) Olson, Troy Schroeder, and Todd (Audrey) Schroeder; grandchildren, Sydni Schroeder, Braylee Schroeder, Ezra Olson, Eli Olson, Bella Schroeder, and Zoya Richardson; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Phyllis (Roger) Hanson, Roger Anderson, Danny (Marcia) Anderson, and Lynell McMahan; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Orva; brothers, Valgene and Jack Anderson.

Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., followed by the memorial service at 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 20, 2020, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
