Gordon D. Olson

Gordon D. Olson, age 89 of Hawley, MN, died Friday, December 16, 2011, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND, with his family by his side.Gordon Duane Olson was born on June 28, 1922 to Andrew T. and Dinah Grani Olson in Hawley, MN. He grew up and attended country school south of Solem Lutheran Church. Gordon worked on the family farm which he purchased in 1954. On December 4th of that year, he married Carol Erickson in Hawley. Carol preceded Gordon in death on September 10, 2004. Gordon resided in the Hawley area and worked hard as a farmer. He not only farmed the land but also was a dairy farmer. Gordon enjoyed playing cards, tinkering with machinery and spending time with his family. During his retirement years, Gordon enjoyed the hobby of woodworking. Blessed be the memory of Gordon.He is survived by three daughters, Susan and Teresa Olson, both of Hawley, MN and Cathryn Gary Odenbach of Lincoln, NE; sister, Doloreze Anderson of Rio Rancho, NM; five grandchildren, Darren Schenck, Shane Janel Odenbach, Cody Odenbach, Pauline Jeff Clark and Kelsey Odenbach; five great-grandchildren, Baleigh and Logan Clark and Kiah, Denzel and Cruz Odenbach as well as several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol Olson; son, Duane Olson and brothers, Milton and Wallace Olson.
