Grace C. Larkin

Grace Larkin, 93, Golden Living Center, Moorhead, MN, died on Thursday, March 15, 2012, in Sanford Health Palliative Care, Fargo, ND. Grace C. Hoppe was born on November 10, 1918, in Sabin, MN, to August and Charlotte Ernst Hoppe. She grew up and attended school there. Grace married Francis W. Larkin on March 15, 1938, in Moorhead where they made their home. She had worked as a waitress at the Little Giant Grill in Moorhead for many years and also at the Silver Moon in Moorhead. She was a talented cook and baker, loved gardening and cooking and caring for family and friends. Francis died on September 2, 2001. Grace's family would like to express their appreciation to Sister Doreen Charest for the care and friendship she provided to Grace in her later years.Grace is survived by her son, Bruce Max Larkin, Moorhead, MN; brother Leonard Hoppe, Graceville, MN; sisters Louise Hammerstrom, Hutchinson, MN, and Faith Krueger, Moorhead, MN; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; son, David; grandson, John; and siblings Harry, Frank and Rosella.
