Grace was born December 7, 1916 in Skree Township, rural Hawley, Minnesota, to Oscar and Hannah Hanson Berg. She was baptized and confirmed at Gran Lutheran Church by Pastor S.G. Hauge. Grace grew up and attended Plainview District #37 country school. Following school she worked on the family farm. She married Edwin C. Olson on June 8, 1938 in Eglon Township, rural Hawley, Minnesota. Following their marriage they lived and worked on his grandparent's farm until they took over his parent's farm. In 1960 they moved in to Hawley where Grace was employed as a lefse roller for Fred Golkowski. Grace enjoyed gardening, fishing, embroidering, cooking and baking. She was active in Homemakers and Happy Old Timers. She was a member of Solem Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Aide and Circle, and she also was a Sunday School teacher in her younger years. In May of 1997 Grace and Edwin moved to Hawley Senior Living and recently she resided at the Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen, Minnesota. Edwin died October 4, 1997.Grace was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Ernie and baby Morris Berg; six sisters, Evelyn Knutson, Minnie Krogh, Selina Myron, Selma Aspengren, Mabel Berg, Alice Anderson.She is survived by two sons, Virgil Norma Olson, Hawley, MN, Roger Nancy Olson, Elk River, MN; four grandchildren, Ross Olson, Hawley, MN, Tiffany Eric Brown, Pelican Rapids, MN, Sheri Lorne Wittnebel, St. Michael, MN, Sandra Olson, Becker, MN; four great-grandchildren, Samantha Olson, Derek & Dylan Wittnebel, and Hadley Grace Brown.
