Gregory N. ’Greg’ Holte

Gregory "Greg" Nelson Holte, age 60, of Dilworth, MN, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012, in his home. Gregory Nelson Holte was born on May 30, 1951, to Harold and Vergil Nelson Holte in Harvey, ND. He grew up and attended school in Grand Forks, ND graduating from Red River High School in 1969. Greg attended Wahpeton School of Science for two years. He then raised his family in West Fargo, ND and then later moved to Fargo, ND eventually making his home in Dilworth, MN. Greg worked as a salesman for Harvestore and also for Peterbilt for several years before retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing guitar, listening to music and spending time at his lake cabin on Loon Lake in Vergas, MN. He is survived by his daughter, Mandi Barrett DeFay of Fort Smith, AR; son, Chad Susan Xiong of Eden Prairie, MN; father, Harold Dorothy of Grand Forks, ND; brothers, Russ Becky of West Fargo, ND and Craig of Fargo, ND; sisters, Carolyn Raymond Toppass of Frankfort, KY and Janet Dale Kopecky of Crookston, MN; five grandchildren, Olivia, Jacob and Payton DeFay and Kennedy and Dylan Holte in addition to several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vergil Holte.
