Gustav A. Haug

Gus was born April 24, 1922 in Skree Township, rural Hawley, Minnesota to Oscar and Martha Heiberg Haug. He grew up and attended District #37 country school. Gus served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He married Joyce Williamson on June 6, 1953, in Lancaster, Minnesota. Following their marriage they settled in Skree Township in rural Hawley. Together they raised four children. Gus enjoyed farming, mechanic work, music and especially spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Haug of Hawley, MN; three sons, Arlen Haug of New Haven, CT, Rodney Sharon Haug of Hawley, MN, and Wayne Ann Haug of Fargo, ND; one daughter, Lynnette Tim Hintze of Whitefish, MT; five grandchildren, Heather Hintze, Deanna Robert Mackin, Daniel, Christopher, and Evan Haug. Gus was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roy and Milton; and one sister, Mildred.
