Harlow Adair “Bill” Iverson, 85, of Moorhead, MN, was called to heaven on Sunday, August 20, 2017, from Elim Care Center in Fargo, under the loving care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Bill was born on April 19, 1932, in Barnesville, MN to Goldie and George Iverson. He grew up and graduated from Barnesville High School, where he was a standout athlete in baseball, basketball and football. He then attended Moorhead State Teachers College where he earned a
Master’s Degree in Education.
He met and married Sonja Christiansen Iverson. Together they had three kids, John, Billy and Judy. Bill went on to teach and coach at South Junior High in Moorhead for 30+ years. After retiring, he became an intervention specialist at Lost and Found Ministries in Moorhead. He was involved in the recovery community and performed over 1,000 interventions.
Since retiring from his second career, Bill enjoyed time with his friends, family and grandchildren, and 6 months before his passing he became a great-grandfather!
He was preceded in death by his parents, Goldie and George Iverson; brother, Gordon “Red” Iverson; and grandchild, Jacobi Christian Iverson.
Bill will be missed by many, including his kids, John J. Iverson, William C. “Billy” Iverson, and Judith A. Anderson; grandchildren, Christopher M. Gardner, Tyler L. Anderson, and Colton J. Iverson; great-grandchild, Jaden Anderson; many nieces and nephews, and friends of Bill W.
A memorial gathering will be held Thursday, August 24, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M., at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead. The memorial service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017, at 1:00 P.M., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead.
